IT’S CHILD’S PLAY: BRITISH PARENTS URGED TO ENCOURAGE THEIR LITTLE ONES' INDIVIDUALITY ON NATIONAL PLAY DAY   Over one third of parents in the UK do not play dress up with their children   Embargoed until 00.01, Wednesday 1st August 2018: Parents across Britain are being encouraged to let their children’s creativity and individuality run free this National Play Day, as new research reveals that 7 out of 10 parents (70%) love seeing their little one’s natural style come to life through their wardrobe choices, even if 92% think their fashion concoctions are too “crazy” to go out wearing.   The survey, conducted by labels-for-less retailer TK Maxx, also revealed that over two thirds (62%) of parents enjoy playing dress up with their children and most (89%) attribute this love of playtime to seeing the way their child’s mind works in order to pull a look together. In addition, boys and girls tend to learn the importance of style early on, with 64% of kids commenting on their parents’ clothing choices as well as their own.   Despite the survey, which targeted parents of children aged 4 - 15, showing that over half (57%) find shopping the third most stressful situation to be in with their children, following getting ready for school (61%) and packing for a holiday (59%), these situations can be beneficial to both parents and children alike.
